Cxbx is a discontinued high-level Xbox emulator for old Windows systems. A total of 5 games were playable, according to a compatibility list from 2009. Work is continuing on a fork titled Cxbx-Reloaded. Dxbx, an Xbox1 High Level Emulator written in Delphi. Dxbx has it's own kernel, emulates controllers, sound and graphics, and offers a toolchain for Xbox executables, library and symbol-pattern files. It runs many SDK samples and a few games.

- Spontaneous CreateDevice failures fixed (many, at least)
- Exe now able to generate into temporary directory, allowing games to be run from a read only device without path issues.
- Finally, Cxbx.dll and Cxbx.exe enforce version synchronization.
- This should at least diagnose about 9 billion people's problems.

Despite the success and recognition that surrounded the emulator during its time of glory, the project started to fade off throughout the years, so much so that it has now reached a stage where it is no longer being actively maintained.

On an ending note, Cxbx was a very bold endeavor that could have been so much more than an outdated application. There’s no telling if the development will be resumed at some point.
